From 7 to 9 July 2025, CKC was honored to participate as a panelist in the East Asia – Approaches to Gender Inclusion Workshop held by Australian Volunteers Program (AVP) in Luang Prabang city. The setting provided an ideal backdrop for meaningful reflection and dynamic regional dialogue.
The hybrid event, featuring two online sessions and one in-person gathering, brought together practitioners, researchers, and thought leaders working on gender issues across East Asia. The workshop created space for open and in-depth discussions on how gender inclusion can be more effectively integrated into the missions, strategies, and operations of organizations across sectors.
Participants shared insights, challenges, and practical experiences in promoting gender equity, not just as a policy goal but as a core value embedded in development and institutional practices. From grassroots community organizing to national policy making, the sessions highlighted diverse approaches and tools that are advancing gender-transformative changes in East Asia.
As a panel member, CKC shared its journey of integrating gender equity into the three foundational pillars of its work:
- Consultancy services: Conducting gender-responsive analysis and planning in projects
- Community initiatives: Co-creating inclusive spaces where women, men, and gender-diverse individuals can thrive equally
- Applied research: Generating locally grounded knowledge that uplifts the voices and experiences of marginalized groups
We were proud to showcase how these pathways reflect CKC’s commitment to gender equity, not only as a thematic focus but as a guiding principle that shapes our work, our partnerships, and the changes we strive to create.
This workshop was a valuable opportunity for mutual learning and cross-country collaboration, and CKC remains committed to advancing inclusive development across the region and contributing to a shared vision of equity and sustainability.
