On 10 July 2026, under the framework of the PWG-Phong Dinh Project, CKC, in collaboration with the Phong Dinh Ward People’s Committee, the Phong Dinh Ward Women’s Union, and local partners, officially handed over the sedge pressing machine to the local sedge craft community in Phong Dinh Ward, Hue City.

The machine has been installed at the Project’s training facility in Vinh An Residential Area, providing community members with convenient access for both the Project’s upcoming training activities and their long-term production needs.

This equipment support marks a significant milestone in promoting technological innovation and boosting production efficiency, contributing to the development of a more sustainable and environmentally responsible sedge craft supply chain.

Beyond the provision of production equipment, the initiative reflects the Project’s broader commitment to strengthening women’s economic empowerment and leadership. Through improved access to appropriate technology and enhanced production practices, women producers will be better positioned to create market-responsive products and expand livelihood opportunities. At the same time, the initiative supports the preservation and promotion of traditional craft heritage while contributing to the transition toward a greener and more sustainable local economy.

This activity is part of the “Women-Led Development of Eco-Friendly Handicraft Supply Chains for Tourism and Services in Phong Dinh Ward, Hue City” (PWG–Phong Dinh) Project, funded by the “Women-led Green Transition” (PWG) Project under the “Women-Led Green Partnership Program” funded by the European Union, managed by Oxfam in Vietnam, and implemented by the CKC in collaboration with the Phong Dinh Ward Women’s Union and KIDO Company.
